2. Qualifications:

3. Overall Purpose

  • The Finance Manager reports directly to the Group Finance Lead and is responsible for managing the full finance function of the Group’s Tanzanian and Mauritian results, as well as the management of the Group’s Shared Service Function Specific roles and responsibilities are listed below.

4. Accountabilities & Responsibility Areas

  • Manage the company’s financial accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Payroll, General Accounting, Taxation and Cost Control;
  • Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines including annual budgets, bi-annual forecasts, monthly management accounts and weekly cashflows;
  • Responsible for Annual statutory audits, ensuring audited financials are signed off and filed within specific deadlines;
  • Key contact person for the Revenue Authorities, ensuring any tax queries and audits are handled with zero exposure to the company;
  • In charge of the company’s Finance, Procurement and Administration policies and procedures;
  • Responsible for company legal secretary issues, ensuring annual returns with BRELA are filed on time;
  • Responsible for administration issues including ensuring company insurances, licenses are updated on time;
  • Arrange new sources of finance for the company’s debt facilities;
  • Supervise staff;
  • Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation;
  • And any other task assigned by the Group finance lead.

Job Objectives

  • To establish and maintain positive customer relationships, plan and deliver an effective retail marketing strategy and monitor the progress of new and existing products; as well as provide operational management support on a day-to-day basis.

Metering Technician

The Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc (CEC) is an independent power supply, transmission, and distribution Company with interests in closely linked businesses, including fibre optic telecommunications, in Zambia and the Sub-Saharan African region.

CEC is inviting applications from suitably qualified, innovative and dynamic individuals to take up the position of Metering Technician at our Head Office in Kitwe.

Job Purpose

To undertake installations, maintenance and repairs on metering equipment and test instruments in order to ensure correct operation on all metering infrastructure.



Key Accountabilities

  • Calibrate energy meters to ensure that they operate within the required accuracies.
  • Undertake repairs and calibration of high voltage and low voltage test instruments to ensure metering availability for the effective maintenance of primary equipment.
  • Install and assist in commissioning of metering schemes for the purpose of maintaining and upgrading existing systems.
  • Carry out condition based maintenance of energy meters, alarms schemes, summation equipment and voltage selection equipment to ensure correct operations at all times.
  • Carry out metering activities in the most efficient and effective manner to ensure that the same are performed right the first time.
  • Participate and attend to defects for the prepayment metering platforms and offer assistance to customers having difficulties with re-charge activities.
  • Carry out repairs to load control circuits for CEC system control office and customers in order for healthy state of circuits at all times for effective load management and peak lopping activities.
  • Ensure that the Measurands to control office are accurate at all times for timely decision making in the control room.

Technical Skills

  • Considerable knowledge of wiring, diagrams, schematics and electrical symbols.
  • Thorough knowledge of the mechanism of self-contained electric meters.
  • Proven ability to test and repair electric meters and to perform simple calculations accurately and quickly.
  • Hands-on skill in basic electricity and electronics as applied to electrical wiring, power and meters.
  • Demonstrate commitment to occupational health and safety standards, environmental responsibility and sustainable work practices.

Agricultural Field Operation Supervisor

Job Purpose:

This position will plan, execute and manage activities related to the production of commercial maize Seed in Zambia. This will also include assistance with foundation seed field productions in the specific geographical area of operations.



Key Duties and Responsibilities

The under mentioned tasks is a broad guideline of the contents of this specific job. At the discretion of one’s Line Manager there may be additional duties or tasks that will be required of the successful candidate that will ensure that Monsanto’s overall goals are met.

  • Ensure an active caring environment where Safety of employees are regarded as first priority and therefore adhering at all times to the established ESH policies.
  • Work closely with the Africa supply chain team to execute the following activities:
    • Production plan
    • Grower contracting
    • Planting process
    • Roughing process
    • Detasseling process
    • Harvesting process
  • Work closely with the field quality and production research team to achieve maximum yield and genetic purity in the production of maize hybrid seed.
  • Capture information that can assist the production research division in the recommendation of future production of the hybrids.
  • Work closely with the Lusaka Site lead and Planners to provide inputs in the planning of the Commercial Seed Production plan for Zambia
  • Build and sustain a reliable grower base in the best production areas to ensure a consistent supply of high quality and reliable quantity Seed.
  • Advise and assist the Growers in adopting the best production practices to ensure that the best quality and quantity of seed supply is ensured.
  • Effective networking with field quality and production research departments.
  • Applying Production Research planting and crop management recommendations to ensure that Seed productions are done with the lowest risk possible in terms of reliability and cost
  • Effective communication with the Lusaka site operations team to ensure that the seed is delivered timeously to the processing plant without quality loss.
  • Regular updating of Production Seed Database and other production programs (FIDO)
  • Provide regular feedback to the country and regional supply chain team on the status of the crop.
  • Implement, maintain and follow ISO 9001 procedures as required.



Desired Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor Degree in Agronomy or related fields
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar filed
  • Prior experience in agricultural or seed industry is an added advantage
  • Detailed knowledge – Specific crops, Seed production and Handling of Seed.
  • Willing to obtain further training in seed certification and phytosanitary procedures valid in Zambia
  • Fluent in English.
