Position Title: Clinic Coordinator- Kanyama Clinic

Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Reports to: HBCU Consortium Project Director, Program Coordinator and Morehouse School of Medicine

The Clinic Coordinator (CC) will work closely with the Historically Black College or University (HBCU) health facility–based Project Directors in the design and implementation of the HRSA-funded Global Health Consortium project covering Kanyama Clinic. The CC will also support development of technical and budget related documents, Annual Program Reports (APR), and Semi-Annual Program reports (SAPR).  She/he will be responsible for ensuring that the HBCU program team provides high quality technical products and services, delivers required results, and uses project resources efficiently and cost effectively.

The Coordinator will also work closely with Senior Program Associates at AIHA/HQ and with Ministry of Health (MOH) officials and staff at the Kanyama Clinic The CC will also liaise with US-based representative at Morehouse School of Medicine. Under the direction of the Clinic Director, the Clinic Coordinator will also perform a variety of other project related managerial duties.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly and under the supervision of the Project Director for efficient and effective completion of defined tasks.
  • Support on-the-ground implementation of practice transformation programs at targeted clinics in Zambia. Track Work Plans and program budgets.
  • Coordinate and provide logistic support for HBCU program related events such as trainings, workshops, assessment visits, and annual work planning.
  • Provide ongoing programmatic support for the staff hired for implementation activities at the Kanyama Clinic utilizing regular distance and face-to-face supervision from the US–based representatives of Morehouse School of Medicine.
  • Work closely with the Project Director to manage the project budgets and ensure the effective use of project funds.
  • Ensure annual work plans align with strategic objectives and project commitments.
  • Provide logistic or technical support and keep abreast of key issues associated with overall project efficiency and effectiveness at Kanyama Clinic.
  • Assist in the writing of narrative reports and ensure that reports are submitted to the Project Director in a timely manner.
  • Monitor program expenditures to ensure adequate funding throughout the year.
  • Coordinate the annual work planning with local partner clinics.
  • Represent HBCU program as requested by the Project Director at various stakeholder meetings.
  • Liaise with AIHA and HBCU headquarters staff on project related issues.
  • At the direction of the Project Director, liaise with other local United States Government (USG) partners working in similar health program areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.




SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a clinical discipline, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related degree with at least 3 years of experience in a similar position, or a baccalaureate degree in clinical sciences such as medical or biological sciences with specialty in infectious disease.
  • Knowledge and experience of HIV/AIDS, program design, management and monitoring tools are essential.
  • Significant experience in ART programming and service delivery.
  • Experience in working effectively and directly with MOH clinics/hospitals, and, PEPFAR funding and programs.
  • Experience managing budgets and collaborating with multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of financial and human resources management, contracts, and general administration of program activities.
